The World Youth Summit for Peace 2016 is organized by International Human Rights Commission.

(KarachiCliffNews): The 5-day World Youth Summit for Peace 2016 having participation from 83 countries and nine head of state level dignitaries will be held from December 8th to 12th, 2016 in Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad. This is organized by International Human Rights Commission with the collaboration of Ministry of Youth, Government of Punjab, Pakistan to identify the value and dignity of youth in the world. The Conference is the think-tank of the creators, makers and Supporter of Peace & Human Rights. This was announced by the Ambassador at Large & World Chairman, International Human Rights Commission (IGO) Dr. Muhammad Shahid Amin Khan during a press conference held here on Thursday at Karachi Press Club. He said that over the past decade, there has been a growing recognition of the youth’s participation in economic, social and political processes. Governments, international agencies, civil society and private sector organizations across the world have realized that young people are powerful agents of change who, if supported and empowered, can drive the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, he added. Youth all over the world throughout the history, have been a revolutionary force. It is the precious asset and magnificence that can revive a nation going through hard times. Youth of a nation can do wonders if trained, educated and guided in an optimum fashion. Literally it refers to all the human force in a nation lying between the age group of 18 – 35 years. Inspite of being tender in age, youth always possesses incredible intellect, physical strength and wisdom because at this age they are free from many prejudices and myopic thinking, he referred. Pakistan is also passing through challenging times in regard to economic, social and political turmoil. Crime rate is increasing, with fast depletion of natural resources, deteriorating agriculture and power shortages, instances of severe human right violation and sufferings of the common man. There are demonstrations and strikes, brutalities and scourge that affect large segment of society every day. In such chaotic conditions there is still a huge quantum of hope alongside, there is anticipation and prospects visible for success and triumph. Consequently, there is a huge responsibility lying on the part of the young generation towards the nation building. To bring the state of affairs back on track the youth has to play its proactive role to help change things for better, and to revive the state of affairs from getting worse, Dr. Muhammad Shahid Amin told. We have requested President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan to inaugurate this mega event along with other heads of state level dignitaries. This event will promote and integrate the skill of Pakistani youth at World level. Ministry of Youth Affairs as one of the Key Ministry in the Punjab Government, youth being an imperative section of society, plays a pivotal role in the economy for sustainable growth and overall progress of the country. The current ratio of youth population in the country (i.e. 27% of the total population) and its future projection insinuate to “Demographic Dividend”, which provides an opportunity for rapid socio-economic growth and development of human efforts for a better life, he further told. The Youth delegates & Youth Ambassadors of IHRC will come together for Conference in an open forum which encourages dialogue on the Human Rights Protection, Efforts for Peace, Empowerment for Women, Welfare of Children, Youth Development, and Respect for Dignity, Education, Health Services and Justice for all. During the Conference, the delegates will discuss all the issues and crisis going on around the world. They will come up with solid polices as to how all these issues can be solved and how all human rights violation across the globe can be stopped. Dr. Muhammad Shahid Amin said that vision of this even is to give talent appreciation awards to young people to encourage them in social development; motivate youth for contributing towards promoting peace, democracy and human rights and the development of the country as responsible citizens; combat poverty and improvements in living standards and quality of life, thereby, promoting great social and economic development, justice and gender equality;
initiate public debates about the means to eradicate discrimination and social injustice against women, minorities and other disenfranchised groups through organization of education; coordinate with survivors of persecution, torture and trauma on account of political & religious affiliation or their race & ethnicity and facilitate them to access with healthcare, psychological care. He said that as racial discrimination and ethnic violence grow in complexity, such environments become more of a challenge for the international community. As a result new tools and techniques are required to deal with menace of racism, an increasing danger to peace. Dr. Muhammad Shahid Amin told that World Youth Summit For Peace is organized for dealing with such environments, has the potential to be among the most significant gatherings at this point to bring about a positive change in the history of mankind as youth has tremendous abilities to deal with the challenges which whole mankind is faced with. They will exchange their experiences, share views and find the path on the platform of International Human Rights Commission which will lead whole world on the way to Peace & Prosperity. We also have Youth Ambassadors Program which appoints and do accreditation of youth leaders as the highest ranking representatives of youth in every country. A Youth Ambassador (YA) will serve as a pivotal point-person for two years and will be assigned a specific area of work classified as priority. YAs will maintain youth-focused issues on all national and international platforms. During this event, participants will discuss issues including youth as a Movement, Global Youth leadership to prevent and end conflicts; Exploring Gender Identity and Expression; Advocacy at School, Colleges and Universities; Liberal Orientation; Behavioral Change & Education; Interfaith harmony, Peacekeeping, Migration, Human Trafficking, Conflicts, and Civil-wars; Global Terrorism as threat to Human Rights; Economics and Finance; Law and Human Rights; World Politics and International Relations; Ecology, Climate Change, Environment and Energy; Education, Health and Youth; Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. Today the International Human Rights Commission enters in 25th year of its struggle for Human Rights Protection, Efforts for Peace, Empowerment for Women, Welfare of Children, Youth Development, and Respect for Dignity, Education, Health Services and Justice for all, he informed.

INTRODUCTION OF IHRC:

The International Human Rights Commission was founded by seven organizations during the conference of their leaders, held at London on 10th of December 1988, with the objective of creating the international network for protection of Human Rights. The International Human Rights Commission has its official and diplomatic representation in 75 countries with more than 8500 members around the world. Until March 2013, over 2250 NGO’s from different countries became members of the Commission. The Commission also provides its services to the United Nations, European Union, Organization of the Islamic Conference, and member states of UN according to the “UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS” passed by United Nations on 10th of December, 1948. Its role is to develop the culture of peace and religious and political harmony and tolerance around the world. The IHRC has entered into reorganization phase through the Relief activities and assistance programs of IHRC run by the “IHRC Relief Fund Trust International” which is recognized by the Government of Pakistan. We are also in the process of obtaining the “Consultative Status” for IHRC-RFT from the United Nations.
