Raaz Reboot movie review: The darkness lives on

Karachi(Cliff News)The darkness and the mystery are back, with Raaz Reboot. The horror franchise is giving us a fourth film and has the perennially present Emraan Hashmi along with Gaurav Arora and Kriti Kharbanda. This time, the action is happening in the land of Dracula, Romania. Director Vikram Bhatt has chosen deep, dark forests and other exotic locales of the country as the setting of this horror film. If it was only about location, consider us suitably scared. However, it is down to the cast, the script and the chill factor, which decides if a horror film will work with the audience. And it is there that Raaz Reboot stumbles and fumbles. To begin with a couple (Gaurav Arora, Kriti Kharbanda) moves into a secluded house in Romania where a spirit is already residing. Now the only thing is that the couple can’t move out. This is where Emraan Hashmi comes in. The film has all the icons you associate with the other world (dead ravens etc). The film’s music is its grace. Like almost all movies from the Bhatt camp, it is hummable. The franchise has juiced out as much horror it could in the last few films, mixed it up with romance and managed to rake in profits.2Raaz Reboot is releasing today by Distribution Club across Pakistan.
