PJF Plan for 2020 Olympics

(PakistanCliffNews): Pakistan Judo Federation appreciates the level of interest of PSB in upcoming 2020 Olympics, and very grateful to Pakistan Sports Board and Ministry of IPC for their cooperation and support because of that one Judoka stepped into 2016 Rio Olympic Games. In sha Allah Pakistan Judo Federation hope to have more participation, alongwith results in the 2020 Olympics with the patronage and cooperation of PSB. Each sport places different demands on the athlete in terms of technical skills, flexibility, agility, speed, strength, stamina and strategy. Similarly, these physical and mental attributes change over time within the individual athlete. While some sports such as weightlifting or shot put require primarily strength with some technique, other sports such as gymnastics require tremendous levels of skill, balance and physical ability. Where power-lifters are generally older, gymnasts are generally younger so must begin training at a very early age. But beginning with that same superb athlete who has never done Judo, it would take seven or eight years to turn him or her into a world champion.  Because judo is a technically complex, sport requiring years to develop the necessary techniques, experience and neuro-muscle memory, in addition to being a superb athlete. In other sports such as swimming and gymnastics, development and high-level competition begins at much earlier ages, but Judo requires a level of physical strength and mental toughness that only comes with age, maturity and experience. In most cases, an eighteen year old athlete is simply not as tough as a twenty-five year old seasoned competitor. Concurring the contents of your letter, it is a proven fact that there are critical periods in the life of a young person in which the effects of training can be maximized. Body Scientists have also concluded that it can take anything from eight to ten years of training for a talented athlete to achieve elite status. Being a full body contact  game, females are rarely found thus leaving a little choice with federation for undertaking development of Women judo Athlete. Keeping in view the resources, availability of talent, Pakistan Judo Federation has devised training plan in two different tiers.
