Karachi(Cliff News)The acclaimed lslamabad based theatre group Kopykats Productions comes to Karachi to bring you Bananistan the musical .A play by Dawar Mehmood,directed by Tulin Khalid Azim and exclusively sponsored by Telenor.The Karachi premiere of “Bananistan”will take place on Arts Conucil Karachi.The drama is set in 2030 and shows a martial law imposed Pakistan where the assemblies have been dissolved and the constitution has been declared invalid.Following the martial law,politicians are forced to earn their livelihood from various odd jobs,the media is on complete lockdown and theatre is the only allowed means of entertainment.A theatre company loses its entire cast in a plane crash,only days before the drama hits the stage.In a rush to cope with the loss,the theatre company puts up advertisement for auditions.Do you think our politician have what it takes to act?Politics is not so different from acing after all.The play is a concept by Dawar Mehmood and is written in collaboration with Saqib Sumeer,Mustafa Chaudry,Faisal Chaudry,Salman Khan and Fawad Baig.
