Karachi(Staff Reporter)DIG Traffic and Chairman Sports Board Sindh Police, Syed Peer Muhammad Shah, stated that the e-challan system has significantly reduced accidents and increased awareness among citizens about traffic laws. He made these remarks during a “Road Safety” workshop organized for members of the Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS).Shah emphasized that e-challans are only issued on roads with proper infrastructure, not on dilapidated roads. He urged SJAS members to spread awareness about road safety and traffic reforms.The Sindh government has implemented e-challan fines in the form of a law after approval from the provincial assembly. Shah encouraged critics to approach the Sindh Assembly for relief.Two apps are being introduced to enhance traffic management, including one for reporting traffic violations. The traffic police will distribute 15% of e-challan income among officials, while 70% will be used at the Sindh government’s discretion.The workshop was attended by Pakistan Sports Writers Federation Secretary General Asghar Azeem, SJAS President Mahmood Riaz, and Secretary Shahid Usman Satti, among others.
