Hyderabad(Cliff News)The02-day long festival attracts thusands of young and teen learners from every nook and corner of Hyderabad division. Throngs of students’participation from public sector schools relive the hope in the government schools. “We yearn for such events as they help us learn better” A student from Government Boys HighSchool shared his views.Children’s LiteratureFestival (CLF) began here on Friday with the inaugral session in Public School Hyderabad. The colourful performance by young studetns set the tone for the event. In the opening remarks the Qazi Shahid Pervaiz Commissioner Hyderabad who was the chief guest reaffirmed his commitment to bring back literary life to Hyderabad by curating such events as part of our vision. Earlier on, Rasool Shah, Director Schools expressed that Education & Literacy Department (E&LD) has a clear road map to increase literacyand improve reading levels in the children of the province.The organizers of theCLF Hyderabad has completely revamped the façade of the Public School with animated atmposphere at the venue. The buntings and balloons, clourful streamers and draping banners charmed the audience. The workshop rooms were named in interesting manner, such as, “Qaleech JoBagh, Kishinchand Bewas Ji Otaaq, Qacho Qillofor live performances ‘The idea to name the rooms for the sessions after renowned but dwindled literary figures is an effort to introduce them toour digital children’s”, Mumtaz Pirzada told the reporter.CLF brought a host of sessions covering wide range of literary and reading aspects. The two days included story telling sessions by Wafa Maula Bux,Nasir Gul,Zaib Sindhi, Ali Dost Aijaz. Magic Show , theatre performance by Education and Literacy Department (E&LD) and Public School Hyderabad, poetic story by Zaib Nizamani, Panel discussions by Taj Joyo, MehmoodMughal, Yasir Qazi, Dr.MakhmoorBukhari, Dr.Ghafoor Memom and NaseerMirza. Live painting by the students of UOA and Saeed Mangi and clay work byGhulam Haider added value to the ambience of this learning packed gala.Interactive and engaging session titled‘Science experiments” captivated teachers, parents and students. ‘I am literally going crazy to see such opportunities for my children’ a happy parent remarked in excitement.Oxford University Press (OUP) designed exclusive sessions for students of the art of bookmaking and storytelling.Khalid Anem also conducted a session on Kitabon se Dosti for children.“I found the CLF Hyderabad very impressive. The children participated and responded whole heartedly. Though the heat was oppressive it did not dampen their spirits. What I have noticed in all the story telling sessions, which are numerous by now, that children love to hear stories, thus if they are guided properly by their teachers their love for reading books will definitely increase,” said Munawar Mahesar Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro.“Even though this is the 29th Children Literature Festival (CLF) in five years, it’s a landmark CLF, as the Hyderabad Festival is the first to be held in Hyderabad. Not only that, it is supported by the Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh. We are extremely pleased with this department,” said Rumana HussainAuthor and Member Board of Directors CLF.Shoaib Memon, the chief organizer informed that Over 8000 children attended the event which is the herald of new beginning for our future generations.
