Karachi (Cliff News)Chief Executive TDAP, S. M. Muneer, in his capacity as a head of premier Export promotion organization of the country has extended warm appreciation to the recently announced export package ofRs. 180 billion by the honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan for the export industry of the country. The package has been designed to counter balance the negative factors hurting the efforts of the exporters like high cost of doing business, poor connectivity in terms of infrastructure, shortage of essential utilities like electricity, gas, water etc. in the country.Chief Executive TDAP further added that our exports especially textile exports are facing challenges due to international recession, regional competition, and the high cost of doing business in Pakistan due to shortage of electricity and gas in Punjab and water in Sindh. However, these effects will be countered with the incentives offered by the honorable P.M.i.e. duty drawback rates for textile garments (7%), textile made ups (6%), processed fabric (5%), yarn & grey fabric (4%), while sports goods leather and footwear at (7%).Chief Executive TDAP has further said that the announced package is linked with the CPEC and power generation projects, which will definitely put Pakistan on the path of progress and prosperity in short span of time. He emphasized upon the exporters to redouble their efforts toward exports in order to achieve the objectives behind the export package of the government.Chief Executive TDAP also complimented the honorable Minister for Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization, Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar and the honorable Minister for Commerce, Engr.Khurram Dastgir Khan, for their efforts in the matter.
