8th Alpha Sports Festival concludes in grand style

Karachi(Cliff News)Karachi witnessed a vibrant celebration of athleticism and youth spirit as the 8th Alpha Sports Festival, hosted by the Alpha Education Network, concluded in grand style. The city’s leading educational institutions came together for nearly a month of exciting competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship.This year’s edition proved to be the most dynamic to date, with over 7,500 athletes from 70 institutions competing across 18 sports, including Archery, Rowing, Cricket, Futsal, Basketball, Badminton, Dodgeball, Table tennis, Volleyball, Scrabble, Padel and Chess.Over 28 days, students showcased their energy, discipline, and passion, turning the festival into a true celebration of Karachi’s sporting talent.

The closing ceremony was a memorable affair, attended by Secretary of Sports and Youth Affairs Sindh, Mr. Munawar Ali Mesar, as the Chief Guest, alongside Director of Sports Mr. Asad Ishaq, DSO Mr. Ismail Shah, Mr. Fareed Ali, and other distinguished guests. The event drew an enthusiastic audience of students, coaches, and supporters.In his address, Mr. Munawar Ali Mesar commended the Alpha Education Network for its consistent efforts in promoting youth engagement through sports.“Organizing such events at the grassroots level is crucial for nurturing young talent and fostering a culture of healthy competition,” he remarked.Director of Alpha Education Network, Mr. Kashan Iqbal, highlighted the festival’s growing impact, stating,“The Alpha Sports Festival has evolved into one of Karachi’s most respected inter-school sporting events. Our aim has always been to instill teamwork, discipline, and resilience in students, and we are proud to see that vision come to life each year.”

Dean of Alpha College, Ms. Saima Raza , also praised the increasing participation of female athletes, emphasizing that their presence reflects the progress and inclusivity the network strives to promote.The highlight of the evening was the awards ceremony, where Alpha Education Network was crowned the overall champion, followed by Karachi Grammar School in second place and Nixor College in third. Chief Guest Mr. Mesar distributed cash prizes, announcing PKR 100,000 for first place, PKR 75,000 for second, and PKR 50,000 for third.

The festival’s success owed much to the tireless efforts of Senior Sports Managers Mr. Majid Rasool and Ms. Najma Ghayas, along with the dedicated coaches and organizers who demonstrated exceptional professionalism and sportsmanship throughout.With another successful year in the books, the Alpha Sports Festival continues to stand as a symbol of unity, determination, and youth excellence, proving once again that no sport is ordinary and every talent deserves recognition.
