Rome(Cliff News)Trade Development Authority of Pakistan in collaboration with Embassy of Pakistan in Rome and Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company (PHDEC) organized Pakistan Mango Show in Italy from 9-10August 2016.The event comprised two segments. One for the general public with a tasting and display held in Porta di Roma, one of the biggest commercial centres Rome on 9
th of August. Pakistani mangoes (white Chaunsa) were tasted by the general public in this upmarket shopping mall. This event was organized in collaboration with Auchan, one of the main grocery storesand the management of Porta di Roma. The display area of these shopping malls was decorated with publicity and promotion material related to mangoes from Pakistan especially prepared by PHDEC.Newsletter and brochures on mangoes from Pakistan were also distributed among the visitors during the event. These events received a highly positive response from the public which appreciated the delicious taste of Pakistani mangos terming them as far superior to other mangoes they have tasted before. The event was attended by over a thousand people which wanted to buy this fruit in the Italian market. The Ambassador and officers of the embassy were present at this event, mingled with the general public and answered their queries.The main corporate event of the show was held in a food district (Centro Agroalimentaredi Roma- CAR). The mangoes were sampled by the important wholesalers/retailers and agro food operators present like M/s Fruttital, M/S ABS SPA, M/S Orto Piazzolla, M/S La Romanesca. Theyall appreciated the taste of the Pakistani mangoes and showed keen interest in their import to Italy. The Commercial Counsellor provided information to the importers of the potential of Pakistan’s agricultural sector.
