Karachi(Cliff News)The Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association is pleased to inform the Press/ Media that a Joint Meeting was held on Tuesday 30th August 2016 with the following Pakistan Sports Board officials –Director General, Dr. Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Director General – National Federations, Mr. Muhammad Azam Dar & Deputy Director General Syed Habib Shah with the undersigned in Islamabad to discuss and finalize the hiring of a Foreign Coach for the Snooker Players of Pakistan, Mr. Soheil Vahedi from Iran in the month of October 2016. The meeting successfully concluded on a positive note and the Pakistan Sports Board Officials approved the proposal of hiring a Coach for the Pakistan players, the Coaching/Training Camp scheduled for 15 days will be held at the Pakistan Sports Board Snooker Hall in the PSB Sports Complex in Islamabad and the players will be accommodated in the Pakistan Sports Board Hostel for the duration of the Camp. The Association is grateful to the PSB for granting the necessary approval for the Coaching Programme.The undersigned also had a formal meeting with the newly appointed Deputy Secretary, Mr. Fayyaz ul Haq, the Joint Secretary Mr. Hussain Ahmed Madni and the Secretary Sports (IPC), Mr. Raja Muhammad Nadir Ali and briefed them on the performance & achievements of the Association and the Snooker Players.The undersigned also had a meeting with the Honorable Minister Sports, Mr. Riaz Hussain Pirzada at his office which was attended by the new Secretary IPC, the following top matters on the Agenda were discussed:
- Hamza Akbar’s long pending Cash Award issue for winning the Asian Championship 2015 in Malaysia.
- Allocation of a suitable hall to the Pakistan Billiards &Snooker Association for a Snooker Academy at Karachi in the Pakistan Sports BoardKarachi Centre.
- Release of pending Special Grants to the Association in which the Pakistan Snooker Team participated.
The Minister Sports instructed the Secretary IPC to arrange for the immediate release of Rs. 1.5 Million towards the Cash Award of Hamza Akbar (former Asian Champion 2015) and also to resolve the pending issues of the Association.The Meeting ended on a positive note and the undersigned is grateful to the Sports Minister for his kind gesture of patronage towards the Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association.
